STORY ARC: Cleansing The Mold
Story Arcs contain chapters which contain chapter parts. As chapter parts are completed, the outcomes are written into the chapter by the author. The People's Republic of Minmatar were the precursor coalition, formed of likeminded Matari corporations, who would go on to merge as part of the Ushra'Khan alliance. In early May YC106, establishing themselves in the Tartatven constellation, the PRM would fight against pirate outfits which would attack traders plying their wares between Molden Heath and secure Minmatar Republic space.
Their forming and their movement into Molden Heath was also seen as a movement of rejecting the policies of the governing Republic body and as a withdrawl to make a home of their own - Midular and the views of the government were completely out of alignment with those of the PRM and this was a direct act of defiance.
At the time, the Republic government had expressed disapproval at PRM 'on behalf of the Republic', with Karin Midular claiming "disappointment at the impertinence displayed by our brethren". Midular then went on to state that the Minmatar Republic officially did not recognize the PRM's claim to sovereignty over the Tartatven constellation.
In response, PRM High Council Member Bl3ach leveled harsh criticism at the current Republic administration, claiming Midular's reaction had been expected from an administration known for its policy of "hiding one's head in the sand and pretending that a third of our people are not still in the vile clutches of the Amarrians, degraded and treated as commodities." The councilman added that the PRM had laid its claim upon Tartatven "so that the principles and ideologies of our people, which seem sorely absent from the bureaucracy of the old Republic, may be enforced."
With this declaration of independence, almost twenty thousand Matari moved from planets in the Sveipar constellation to take up residence on Tartatven's major centers of commerce and industry, the cities of Argrald and New Rixarn (located on Hrober II and Aedald VI, respectively). This migration was seen as indicative of the growing feeling, particularly among younger generation Matari, that the current Republic was growing soft in its policies.
At a press conference on 11th May YC106 as to whether this recent trend was cause for worry for the Republic, Head of Parliament Malaetu Shakor replied: "The Republic does as it must, as, I am certain, does the PRM. I am not now, nor have I ever been, in a position to judge my fellow brothers and sisters for the paths they choose. Our struggle is, after all, a common one."
Thus the wheels were set in motion. The PRM would go on to form the Ushra'Khan six months later [25th November] and they had Shakor's support.
By early YC107, the Ushra'Khan were fully engaged on two fronts under the command of Maggot of Freelance Unincorporated- against the Amarrian forces of Curatores Veritatis Alliance [CVA], Praetoria Imperialis Excubitoris [P.I.E] and against the pirate coalitions - all taking place inside Molden Heath with CVA and P.I.E launching several attacks into the area to disrupt Ushra'Khan anti-pirate operations.
From Egbinger, the Ushra'Khan extended their operations deeper into the region of the Great Wildlands - home of the Thukker Tribe
The Ushra'Khan would land substantial blows against these pirate coaltions, forcing many pirate operations to cease whilst acting as protectors of Thukker interests and defending civilian trading operations. Many pirate outfits would accuse Ushra'Khan of being the perpetrators.
One pirate, Ivan VII would air his grievances with Ushra'Khan's policy in Molden Heath:
"I used to live a relatively normal life in Molden Heath as a merc preying on those with wanted levels with my corp mates.
Then one day we attacked a bounty and we ended up in a war with an alliance, remember that we were a 70 member corp at the time and the alliance was arould 300 members, So as you can imagine we were a bit out numbered so after losing several ships we ended up coming to agree to some terms to end the war which we agreed to, which were basically we couldn't enter the low sec space of Molden Heath and attack them for their bounties, but we were able to access our agents and equiptment.
Now here is the twist once the war was over and the terms were agreed we started going to molden heath to use our agents etc which was fully within the agreed terms, But Ushra'Khan tried to change the terms and say we cant use our agents in Molden and the whole reigion is off limits. Obviously we told them to stick it where the sun dont shine and stuck to the terms that ended the war.
Recently they have been in Heimatar region and are also saying that being there is breaching the terms, So as of last night they had declared war on us again so now they are making our corps playing experience a misery."
KhanJohn, a commanding officer of the Ushra'Khan responded:
"This will be a brief transmission of the agreed terms...
[] Leave Molden Heath
[] No pirating in minmatar space
[] No slave trading, any pilot found with slaves is required to have positive minmatar standings.
Agreement was broken many times, leniancy was given, pilot's were allowed time to remove assets, High level agents are available outside of MH...
War has been redeclared till these agreements are met, when you wish to surrender new arrangements can be agreed with the Ushrakhan council...
Prepare for war..."
In mid YC107 Ushra'Khan had moved their home to Amamake.
While the situation on the home front had been developing, and the freedom fighter-Republic tensions growing, the Amarrian loyalist alliance the CVA had begun their venture to reclaim the Providence region for the Empire. Operation Deliverance.
Under the auspices of 'Operation Deliverance', CVA and its allies stepped up anti-pirate activities in the southern regions of the Amarr Empire bordering the Providence region and neighbouring 0.0 systems in Providence. Historically these areas (including Kheram, Gemodi, Mamet, Misaba and R3-K7K) had been dominated by piratical corporations such as The Priory, Hooligans of War, Freeks, and The Short Bus Squad. From late 106 EST to late 107 EST, CVA succeeded in bringing 'relative' peace to the Deliverance corridor and forcing resident pirates out of the area although its authority was challenged by sporadic piratical invasions, primarily raids by The Priory and a full scale invasion of Kheram by The Short Bus Squad.
It was decided that it was time for the Ushra'Khan to move beyond the Republic and oppose this attempt to expand Imperial borders directly. Moving into northern Providence the alliance became fully based in null-sec space for the first time in its history. Operating from starbases and Thukker Tribe stations in low-sec Mandate space, the Ushra'Khan largely parted company with Midular's Republic.
A new dimension had taken place in the Amarr versus Minmatar conflict. For the first time, actual territory was now being contested over and in October YC107 the Ushra'Khan declared that they were now carrying out full scale operations in Providence against CVA and Huzzah amongst other enemies.
Zoolkhan of Freelance Unincorporated issued a statement on 22nd July YC107, as he recited a phrase from the book of Statements and Lections of the Kla'lab monks of the fist:
"...sometimes people get fired upon while travelling to their brethren from the Thukker tribe. It is those times when even a charismatic commander cannot hold back some pilots from the fight.
Whenever someone manages to down one of ours, he is hitting ressources of the rebellion, the freedom fight. Fortunately the stream of recruits is endless, this lies in the nature of our fight, the fact that we liberated and still liberate thousands of thousand of our kin.
If you now think its the right time to celebrate the killing of ours - very well - history books will be written later.."
The move to Amamake and onwards into Providence resulted in what was known as "The Exodus" - those who wished to stay in Molden Heath or to operate around Amamake found themselves outnumbered and this contingent of Ushra'Khan largely split to other alliances such as Band Of Brothers or would join other likeminded alliances and corporations.
For many, it was felt that the operations in Molden Heath were left unfinished following the departure from the region.
The time had now come to cleanse the area of pirate filth once more and to look at protecting the interests of Minmatar Republic traders and civilians.
